We recommend using public transport to reach us where you can – for environmental reasons but also because we have limited car parking spaces at The Vale.

General Parking

The Vale has a limited number of parking spaces available. If you are travelling to The Vale for a busy event such as an evening performance or masterclass, we advise that you use alternative methods of transport. This is also better for our environment.  If you do need to drive to The Vale, then please see the parking map below with details of nearby parking spaces. The Vale is a short walk from the nearest space.

Please note that the side roads around The Vale should not be used for visitor parking. Please respect our residential and business neighbours when choosing a parking space.

Accessible Parking

A limited number of accessible parking spaces for our guests that need it are available to you. Please contact a member of the team and they will reserve a space in advance for you. If you have any other access requirements or would like any further information, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

By rail

We are around ten to fifteen minutes’ walk from Mossley train station – though it is all uphill. Come out of the train station, cross over Manchester Road and take the steep road down between the pharmacy and the doctors’ surgery. At the bottom of this road, turn left and you will be on Micklehurst Road. Follow this road up the hill (we know, we know, Mossley is a hilly place!) and you will find The Vale towards the top on the right hand side.

By bus

Bus routes 348 and 350 all serve Huddersfield Road / near Micklehurst Road stop. For the latest bus travel updates, please visit the TfGM website.

By Bike

Pedal power is no mean feat when cycling along the Mossley or Tameside hills. You can enjoy a scenic cycle from Saddleworth or Stalybridge via the Tame Valley Loop, we’re just a few hundred yards for the loop and based approx halfway along it. We have bicycle racks around the outside of  The Vale for you to park at on arrival.

Ask a member of staff if you need to charge your bike lights or borrow some batteries.
