Historically The Vale would have been a hive of activity and noise – which is not much different to today, really! We have a vibrant, diverse programme of cultural experiences on offer all year round. All you have to do is join us! Read on to see what live performances and cinema we have on offer, and all the creative participatory opportunities you could wish for.

Live events

The Vale is perhaps best known for our live performance venue where a whole host of different music, theatre and dance events take place. There’ll be something to hook you in, we guarantee it! Take a look at our current season and book your tickets below.

Participate

The Vale is the place to get stuck in. With our team on hand to guide you through, you’ll learn new skills, meet new people and, most importantly, have the most fun you’ve had in ages! With opportunities for adults, kids and professional artists, now’s your chance.

Cinema

Sure, you can go to your local high street and watch the latest blockbuster, but surely you’d prefer a more intimate setting with your friends and neighbours, a fully stocked bar and the opportunity to join us with film-related cultural experiences before or after the event? Having worked closely on major projects with artists such as Baaba Maal and The BKO Quintet, his drive to recreate the warmth of his home community in the UK is shown through his inspiring audience engagement during performances, as well as his various workshops throughout Europe.

Renegade Brass Band

The Vale Unit 2 Vale Mill, Micklehurst Road, Mossley

Renegade Brass Band combine a big brass sound with raw hip-hop vocals and beats, and have built a huge live reputation as a headline act.  RBB have played packed-out shows at venues around the UK and Europe, and their unique sound and energy has seem them support acts such De La Soul, Busta Rhymes, Grandmaster Flash, Public Enemy, The Cat Empire, Jamie Cullum, Quantic, Craig Charles and many more.

Baked A La Ska – Festive Special

Caoilfhionn Rose and Coruja Jones

Caoilfhionn Rose (pronounced Keelin), is a singer, songwriter and producer who was born in Manchester, England, with family roots in Northern Ireland and Yorkshire (UK). Emerging from a diverse music scene, she ties together remnants of Manchester’s musical past with its evolving present. She has collaborated with musicians from around the world and is perhaps best known for her work with Vini Reilly of The Durutti Column Collaborating on four songs on the Chronicle LX: XL

Agbeko

The Vale Unit 2 Vale Mill, Micklehurst Road, Mossley

Agbeko were born out of admiration for the enduring music of 1970s West Africa and have spent the past three years honing a singular, contemporary sound built upon its teachings. An onslaught of horns, guitars, percussion and gutsy vocals, the eleven-strong outfit deliver powerful songs packed with riffs, groove and lyrical prowess to move gig-goers, festival throngs and afro-funk afficionados alike.
