7:30pm until midnight

Kicking off our live music offering for the night are the Global Grooves Bloco, featuring our very own lead artists who continue to drive the development of the Vale. These top notch creatives have travelled the world, studying and performing in all corners of the globe including Brazil, Cuba, West Africa, Trinidad & Tobago, Singapore, Qatar, New Zealand, and beyond. Expect big heavy beats and bring your dancing shoes!

And if you can’t get enough of these foot tapping grooves, you can also get in on the act by joining our weekly Bloco percussion classes on Tuesday evenings (7-9pm) at the Vale. Find out how to get involved here:

Born of Manchester’s creative melting pot, Buffalo Brothers have earned a reputation in their local stomping grounds and further afield for energetically executing explosive live sets of breathtakingly raw funk creations. On a tireless mission to reach the ears and the souls of the global groove herd, the band are currently releasing a series of singles, following on from the success of their blistering debut album ‘Fresh From The Horn.’ Buffalo Brothers are stamping their hooves and finding their stride, and a funk stampede is fast approaching.

“I’m a massive fan of this Manchester outfit – they’ve released one cracking album” – Craig Charles, Funk and Soul Show, BBC 6 Music

Racubah DJs have travelled the world, collecting and collating timeless original music for over 20 years. Their original live event performances present beautifully crafted tunes, beats and rhythms to ease your mind and free your body. No Stress. Just love and good vibes.

Guga Santos

Continue the celebrations on Sunday 17th September 2023 join Global Grooves for a percussion and voice masterclass with Guga Santos.

Take the opportunity to further your knowledge of music and culture from Pernambuco (Brazil), we will be joined again by musician and artist Guga Santos the day after our main birthday celebrations.

Previous experience of percussion playing or singing is highly recommended for this masterclass.

Traditional Rhythms of the Candomblé terreiros and Jurema in Pernambuco in partnership with Juba do Leão.

We are delighted to welcome Guga Santos from Brazil to join us for this very special masterclass in the ritual music of northeastern Brazil. This workshop is most suitable for music enthusiasts who already have some experience of percussion or voice-based practice.

This workshop aims to provide the rhythmic knowledge of the drums and the historical and geographical context of the African Nations that were enslaved and brought to Pernambuco and its development until the present day through the northeastern exodus.
