Creative Computing – free training!

Creative Computing – free training!

Click Together returns again from  July – all online.

Register for this free course by emailing Sophie ([email protected]) or calling 0161 870 6895.

This twelve-week course, facilitated over Zoom, is completely free and designed for you to brush up on your digital skills. As the lockdown has shown, we live in an increasingly digital world. Getting to grips with apps and software, social media, coding and graphics has never been more essential.

What will the sessions consist of?

Tutor, Aaron Albinson, a computer programmer and software developer, will take you through friendly, informal sessions on topics such as using Google search and Google Docs, Sheets and Slides, graphics and image manipulation, the basics of coding and building your own website.

Each session will last approximately 1.5 hours and will involve fun activities to get you flexing your digital muscles.

When will the sessions take place?

The first session is 10am on Tuesday 14 July. The course will run every Tuesday at 10am for 12 weeks inclusive.

Sounds great! Can I join?

As this is a project Global Grooves has been funded to deliver by the European Social Fund (ESF), participants must be unemployed and a Greater Manchester resident to participate. You must also be over 18.

However, we have a limited number of places for other individuals that don’t fit this criteria, so please do get in touch if you’re interested.

What do I need to participate?

Firstly, you must register with Global Grooves to join the course. Please email Sophie via [email protected] or call 0161 870 6895.

You will need a tablet or laptop/PC to join the session. Though you can also join the session using a smartphone, we recommend that you use a tablet, laptop or PC so that you are able to join in with the activities.

You will also need a Zoom account. Zoom is free-to-use video conferencing software. If you don’t already have a Zoom account, you will need to sign up before the course commences here.

Though it will be best to familiarise yourself with how to use Zoom before the course gets underway, joining instructions will be included in the email confirmation. (And don’t worry if you’ve not used it before – we can help!)

Please let Sophie know if you would like to register or you have any queries ([email protected] or 0161 870 6895).

Have you also heard about our Creative Careers Camp? You might also be interested in our other free course, designed for people interested in working in culture and the arts. Click here to read more – you might like to register for both.

We look forward to meeting you!
