THE VALE LIVE presents a dynamic lineup of acts from across the globe, broadcasting from our virtual venue, live to your living room!
Kicking off on 24th April, The Vale Live will bring you wonderful talent every Wednesday and Friday from our favourite artists in isolation. No need to move from the couch (unless you’re going to get your dancing shoes), you can catch each gig LIVE on our Facebook page. You can also catch all of the livestreams on our feed after the event if you miss it or want to watch it over again!
We’re proud to present singer songwriter, Ben Avison. Ben has carefully honed the craft of songwriting, telling a story in every song. He is a captivating performer who has been praised for his “beautifully rich voice”, “tasty guitar work” and hailed as a “master of many styles” by the BBC.
He grew up in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales before moving to Cambridge, where he wrote his 2013 debut album Good Day Mr. Magpie, described as “perceptive,” “authentic” and “inspiring”. He now lives in Oxford where he wrote the “excellent tracks” (BBC Introducing) for his new album, Lovers Leap, on a boat.
He has toured and recorded internationally with several artists including Bhundu Boys legend Rise Kagona, the Seby Ntege Band, Stornoway’s Oli Steadman and on The Moonbeams’ Daily Telegraph top folk album of 2015.
The influences are varied and classic – Cat Stevens, Peter Gabriel, Nick Drake – yet floating above it is a clear English voice all its own.
