Introduction to Samba Dance with Adriana Rosso

This 4 weeks course is designed for people who want just to have an overall understanding or want to start their journey in the most traditional Brazilian dance: SAMBA
The participants will have an opportunity to dance to live drums helping them to improve their musicality and time, which are the most important elements when dancing samba.
We will focus on the samba step “samba no pe” as well as learning a few sequences to help develop a samba dance vocabulary.
“Samba is part of our lives; In Brazil when someone starts to play samba the rest follows, by dancing, clapping, stomping the feet…IT JUST HAPPENS anywhere, everywhere, anytime, no time…..it is spontaneous, organic…. the step, the rhythm, the beat, the flow, IT JUST HAPPENS, it can’t be forced in/on the body….sometimes, many times, it takes time to be understood, to travel from the brain, through the body all the way to the heart, sometimes this journey can take as long as a life time but once you feel it, it never leaves you”.
