Cotton Culture – Weaving Workshop with Kate Rothery

Did you know, our home Vale Mill once produced award winning ‘fancy flannel’ fabric which if rumours are to be believed, formed the fabric for Queen Victoria’s Bloomers! Our recent heritage project Cotton Culture, helped us to unpick our textile rich past and gave us plenty of inspiration for fun creative workshops for you and your family.

Let our resident artist, Kate Rothery tell you more and help you make your own gorgeous woven mini-wall hanging with colourful wool and silky ribbons.

All materials will be provided. Suitable for all ages.

Free! 2:00pm – 3:30pm

Advanced booking is recommended to help us monitor numbers, although please feel free to just drop in and we will try and acomodate you.

Cotton Culture is a creative project that explores how mills, people and traditions combine to create the heritage of our area. Find out more about Vale Mill and Mossley’s creative history HERE
