Calaita Flamenco Son

Rumba powered flamenco to heat up our spring live music season!
For our third live music event we’re delighted to welcome this Spanish collective to The Vale.
Calaita Flamenco Son are Seville born flamenco singer Chico Pere, UK based guitarist Glenn Sharp, percussionist Leo Paredes, singer Diana Castro and saxophonist/flutist Matt Nickson.
The material is a mix of authentic, traditional and contemporary flamenco, mostly written by Chico. Chico’s  lyrics pull on his life experiences, growing up in Triana-Seville, as well as his travels throughout Europe. Glenn also writes for the band, bringing his virtuoso playing style to the fore. Calaita Flamenco Son are an exciting live band and have been busy performing for the past two years in venues and festivals in the UK and Andalucia.
You can buy their self-titled debut album on Riverboat Records and online from World Music Network.
